Loving Your Neighbor

Core Interrelations

CONSOLIDATION:
The blessings of heaven come from following the Teacher; He said to love the Lord and your neighbor; it's the greatest.

Love the Lord (to love Him you have to believe in Him) and your neighbor, seeking their good, offering help to relieve their suffering, and you will be judged to live.

Do to others as you would have them do to you. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High.

Be merciful to people and do not judge or condemn them; forgive them.

Give, and a good overflowing measure will be poured back to you.

Serve, and do some of the lowly work.

Love your neighbor, being careful not to offend him. Show the childlike humility that leads one into true believing and greatness.

Jesus sends us to carry the gospel to people; if they accept us they accept Him and God. They will know we are His disciples by our love for each other.

If we love our unbelieving neighbors we'll ask God to heal them and He'll take action on their behalf. Better have some faith because they are going to need it.

As you love, some who belong to the world and hate God may hate you for speaking about Jesus. Tell people about Jesus, even though some misjudge and hurt you.

Some unbelievers may attack you when you tell them what you most highly value.

Love, give and do good to, bless and pray for your enemies, those who hate you, curse you, and mistreat you.

Jesus knows you love Him by the way you apply the principles, which is summed up by loving each other as Jesus loves us. Doing much of this will bring glory to God, and He will reveal Himself to us.

mercy and compassion

Core Interrelations

CONSOLIDATION:
Understanding how important it is to God that we show people mercy helps us clearly distinguish right from wrong.

When God is in us, we have mercy on our neighbor. Having faith in God we can overcome our harmful desires through actions such as these. Those who accept Jesus find rest for their souls.

Be merciful to people and do not judge or condemn them; forgive them.

Have mercy on people around you who are poor and in unfortunate circumstances.

Have compassion for people and do what you can to help them, believing in the Lord for help; and He will help. Then amazing things are possible.

Give, and a good overflowing measure will be poured back to you.

Our Teacher said serving is the greatest, he who humbles himself.

When you start serving others and have your relationships with others inline with the principles in spite of all the problems that come up, and this involves A LOT of forgiving and mercy (these are the fruits of true believing), then you can ask what you wish from the Father, and it is yours.

Love, give and do good to, bless and pray for your enemies, those who hate you, curse you, and mistreat you. Do to others as you would have them do to you. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High.

Don't make excuses in order to refuse God's invitation to you, or you will find yourself apart from God's goodness.

Woe to the hypocrite! (prideful one) You will be deceived by your unbelieving heart, as evidenced by what your life visibly produces.

not causing others to sin

Core Interrelations

CONSOLIDATION:
Love your neighbor, being careful not to offend him. Show the childlike humility that leads one into true believing and greatness.

Forgive your brother when he repents.

Humble serving is our duty.

Perhaps one of the best ways to overcome our harmful desires is through serving others. Jesus served us by coming to find us and save us when we had gone astray.

Don't cause others to sin; there is a heavy price to pay.

Unbelievers tend to cause believers to sin (do harmful things); they better take as strong a measure as possible to stop or they will be sorry.

Divorcing your spouse and then marrying someone else is adultery (unless the one you divorced was maritally unfaithful, see MT 19:9); don't be insensitive to (hard-hearted toward) what Jesus says.
