hating good, siding with Satan

And this is the condemnation [judgement], that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. JH 3:19 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither [and doesn't] cometh [in]to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved [exposed]. The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of [about] it, that the works thereof are evil. Jh 7:7

I receive not honour [praise WU] from men. But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive [accept WU] me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. How can ye believe, which receive honour [accept praise WU] one of [from] another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only [the only God]? Jh 5:41-44

If the world hate[s] you, ye know [keep in mind WU] that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of [belonged to WU] the world, the world would love his [you as its WU] own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you;  if they have kept [obeyed WU] my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake [because of my name WU], because they know not him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had [would not be guilty of WU] sin: but now they have no cloak [excuse] for their sin. He that hateth me hateth my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had [would not be guilty of WU] sin: but now have they both seen [the miracles WU] and hated both me and my Father. Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt [hold us in suspense]? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of [testify about WU] me. But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. Jh 10:24-26 It takes more than facts to believe.

I know that ye are Abraham's seed [descendants]; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you [you have no room for my word WU]. JH 8:37 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with [heard from WU] your father. Jh 8:37-38

Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word [listen to what I say WU]. Ye are of [belong to WU] your father the devil, and the lusts [desires] of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode [stands] not in [with WU] the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of [according to WU] his own [nature WU]: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convinceth me [can prove me guilty WU] of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? He that is of [belongs to WU] God heareth [listens to WU] God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. Jh 8:43-47

And the scribes [experts in the law WU] which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath [is possessed by] Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils [demons] casteth he out devils [demons]. ........ Verily [most assuredly] I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever [with which] they shall blaspheme: But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost [Spirit] hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation [guilty of an eternal sin]. [he said this WU] Because they said, He hath an unclean [evil WU] spirit. Mk 3:22-30

Wherefore [therefore] I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost [Spirit] shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. insensitivity

But whereunto [to what] shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows, And saying, We have piped [played the flute] unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented. Mat 11:16-17

And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias [Isaiah], which saith, By [when] hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross [grown callous], and their ears are dull [hard WU] of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should [otherwise they might WU] see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should [would WU] understand with their heart, and should be converted [turn], and I should heal them. Mat 13:14-15 Jesus said this of the crowds, quoting Isaiah 6:9. Also Mk 4:12 (Television can be de-sensitizing.)

And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding? Mat 15:16 We are sometimes dull to the Word of God, and stay that way for a long time, despite teaching in the Word.

For they considered [understood] not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened. MK 6:52

"for they had not understood about the loaves; their hearts were hardened" Mk 6:52

And he said unto him, If they hear not [don't listen to] Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though [even if WU] one rose from the dead. Lk 16:31 It takes more than miracles for someone to believe; it takes a softened, repenting heart that's open to the truth.

But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not. Jh 6:36 Sometimes we may experience God and still not believe.

Judge not according to the appearance [appearances WU], but judge [a WU] righteous judgment. Jh 7:24

And when he was come near [Jerusalem WU], he beheld the city, and wept over it, Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day [today], the things which belong unto [would make for WU] thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about [build and embankment against WU] thee, and compass thee round [surround you], and keep [hem] thee in on every side, And shall lay thee even with [dash you to] the ground, and [also WU] thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not [did not recognize WU] the time of thy visitation [from God WU]. Lk 19:41-44 Destruction followed to those in Jerusalem who did not recognize the time of God’s coming to them. They did not soften their hearts to God, so His appearance remained hidden from their eyes.

Then he said unto them, O fools [foolish men], and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Lk 24:13-35 Jesus called the two people on the road to Emmaus foolish and slow of heart to believe God’s word.

distractions, worldliness

And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful [worried WU] and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful [needed]: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. Lk 10:41-42

Verily, verily [most assuredly], I say unto you, Except [unless] a corn [grain] of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth [remains by itself] alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit [grain]. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto [for WU] life eternal. If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. Jh 12:24-26

Take no thought [do not worry about WU] your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life [not life] more than meat [food], and the body [more] than raiment [clothing]? .... Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles [unconverted WU] seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you [as well]. Take therefore no thought for the morrow [do not worry about tomorrow WU]: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto [for WU] the day is the evil [trouble WU] thereof. Mat 6:25-34

He hath put down the mighty from their seats [thrones], and exalted them of low degree [the lowly]. LK 1:52 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away. Lk 1:52-53

And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made [become] blind. Jh 9:39 Those who see worldly endeavors as their primary purpose in life are blind.

don’t think you're good enough

When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole [healthy] have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Mk 2:17 Admit you're sick.

But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. Whether [which] of them twain [two] did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily [most assuredly] I say unto you, That the publicans [tax collectors] and the harlots [prostitutes] go into the kingdom of God before [ahead of WU] you. For John came unto you in [to show you WU] the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it [this WU], repented not afterward, that ye might believe him. Mat 21:28-32 'Sinners', those who approve of and indulge in harmful ways, those who don’t know God and don’t claim to, sometimes eventually turn to God in true repentance, while those who are righteous in their own eyes have not truly found God (even if they claim to be Christians), because they have not really repented.

Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should [would] have no [not be guilty of WU] sin: but now ye say [because you claim WU], We see; therefore your sin remaineth. Jh 9:41

Bring forth therefore fruits meet for [in keeping with WU] repentance: And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to [for] our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of [from] these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Mat 3:8-10 A godly heritage won't save you.

refusing to respond to God, according to God’s way

And when one of them that sat at meat [the table] with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread [feast] in the kingdom of God. Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper [banquet WU], and bade [invited] many: And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. And they all with one consent [alike WU] began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee [please] have me excused. And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them [try them out]: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have [just WU] married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. So that servant came [back WU], and shewed [told] his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither [to here WU] the poor, and the maimed, and the halt [lame], and the blind. And the servant said, Lord, it is [has been WU] done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is [still] room. And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges [country roads WU], and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden [invited] shall taste of my supper [banquet WU]. Lk 14:15-24

[you] Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they [these] are they which testify of [about] me. And [yet] ye will not [are not willing to WU] come to me, [so WU] that ye might have life. Jh 5:39-40
