CONSOLIDATION:
There are many things that we can be focused on, worried, and troubled about; but one
thing, the Lord, is needed.
Those who hate having their sinful (harmful) nature and the ways of this world as part of their life, and turn to serve the Lord instead, even though they may be persecuted to death, will find eternal life. To serve Jesus you must follow Jesus' path, and you will be honored by God the Father.
Only Jesus our Savior can distract us from our worldly pursuits; He provides.
Sometimes the work of God is displayed in our life through overcoming severe hardships.
You will not overcome severe hardships as long as you're distracted with worldly
endeavors, and as long as your pride is in place, ruling your life.
You can't tell right from wrong when you're so caught up with running after money and worldly things.
God sees and takes action against our hidden pride and our pursuit of riches.
