CONSOLIDATION:
To do the work of God is to believe in Jesus, the One God sent to us to save us
from sin (harm) and evil. That said, don't be insensitive to His communication
toward you (only Jesus can distract us from our worldly pursuits, He provides).
Listen to and learn from what God says (like how important it is that we show
people mercy) so you can tell the difference between right and wrong.
You'll find out Jesus and His teachings come from God the Father when you choose to try to apply the principles of God to your life (this will help you believe in Jesus). Doing good aligns you to want to be seen as belonging to God. This work will honor God and make you a man or woman of truth, because Jesus teaches us the truth.
They who love good and see and assess that Jesus is doing good as God does good (including miracles showing He is one with the Father), will naturally home in as God draws them in to believing in Jesus, who came from Him, and so be saved. They will bring God into their life when they believe in Jesus.
Jesus wants and can enable you to live like He does, and wants to keep you. He said God loves us and we need to believe in a Savior sent from God to enter eternal life (we will be protected from destruction by Jesus, who is one with God the Father Almighty/Creator); otherwise we perish. He said we need to be baptized in water and be filled with this mysterious Spirit of God.
You can't tell right from wrong when you're so caught up with running after
money and worldly things.
Hating good will keep you from coming to and believing in Jesus. If you won't tolerate having the evil you do exposed by God, you'll hate Jesus.

the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. Humility helps people find Jesus
even while dying.
Humility toward the Lord enables you to ask persistently for His help and to believe He can do things you can't. God always hears our requests since He lives inside us, so don't give up asking; ask boldly in faith, and yet humbly, asking for mercy.

Giving helps you get out of
yourself and become sensitive to (soft-hearted toward) others.
The rich will only enter the kingdom of heaven with great difficulty; it is hard to give a large portion of your wealth to the poor (see also LK 19:1-10), (soften the heart and repent of that selfishness).
When you get to keep what you want (the Lord), you give up the rest.
God will bestow many blessings of heaven on those who give things up for Jesus' sake.
Give up having your closest relationships with family outside Christ, and be willing to suffer abuse and even death for Him, though this is difficult, or you can't be His disciple.
If you're insensitive (hard-hearted), you won't sense God, and
His presence and way will not enable you.
If you don't want the Lord you will be separated from Him and judged unfavorably for not listening to the Teacher.
