1Pet3:7Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding [considerate] way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace [gracious gift] of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered. - ESV
1Pet3:8 Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be
sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. 9Do
not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to
this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 10For,
"Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful
speech.
11He must turn from
evil and do good;
he must seek peace and pursue
it.
12For the
eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to
their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do
evil." (Psa34:12-16) - NIV
1Pet4:7The end of all things is at hand [near]; therefore be self-controlled and
sober [clear]-minded for the sake of your prayers [so that you can pray]. 8Above all, keep loving
one another earnestly [deeply], since love covers [over] a multitude of sins.
9Show
hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10As each has received
a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of [faithfully
administering] God's varied grace [grace in its various forms]:
11whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles [the very words] of God; whoever serves, as one
who serves by the strength that God supplies--in order that in everything God
may be glorified [praised] through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion
[power] forever
and ever. Amen. - ESV
Jam1:2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of
many kinds, 3because you know that the testing
of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance
must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking
anything. 5If any of you lacks wisdom, he
should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and
it will be given to him. 6But
when he asks, he must believe and not doubt,
because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7That
man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he
is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does. - NIV
