Rm12:9Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.
10Be
devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11Never
be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12Be
joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13Share
with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
14Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
15Rejoice
with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16Live in harmony
with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of
low position. Do not be
conceited. 17Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right
in the eyes of everybody. 18If it is possible, as far as it depends
on you, live at peace with everyone. 19Do not take revenge, my
friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to
avenge; I will repay,"
says the Lord. 20On the contrary:
"If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something
to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." (Pro25:21-22)
21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. - NIV
3Jhn1:5Beloved, it is a faithful thing you do in all your efforts for these
brothers, strangers as they are, 6who testified to your love before
the church. You will do well to send them on their journey in a manner worthy of
God. 7For they have gone out for the sake of the
[N]name, accepting [receiving] nothing from the Gentiles. 8Therefore we ought to
support [show hospitality to] people like these, that we may be fellow workers for the truth. - ESV
1Pet4:7The end of all things is at hand [near]; therefore be self-controlled and
sober[clear]-minded for the sake of your prayers [so that you can pray]. 8Above all, keep loving
one another earnestly [deeply], since love covers [over] a multitude of sins.
9Show
hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10As each has received
a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of [faithfully
administering] God's varied grace [grace in its various forms]:
11whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles [the very words] of God; whoever serves, as one
who serves by the strength that God supplies--in order that in everything God
may be glorified [praised] through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion
[power] forever
and ever. Amen. - ESV
