Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes [experts in the law WU], and the elders of the people, unto [in] the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, MT 26:3 And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty [deceit], and kill him. MT 26:4 But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar [riot] among the people. MT 26:5

Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, MT 26:6 There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box [jar] of very precious ointment [expensive aromatic oil WU], and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat [the table]. MT 26:7 But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is [why] this waste? MT 26:8 For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor. MT 26:9 When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought [done] a good work upon me. MT 26:10 For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. MT 26:11 For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial. MT 26:12 Verily [most assuredly] I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that [what] this woman hath done, be told for a memorial [in memory WU] of her. MT 26:13

Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, MT 26:14 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and [if WU] I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for [weighed out for him] thirty pieces of silver. MT 26:15 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him. MT 26:16
