Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine [pigs], lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you [tear you to pieces]. Mat 7:6

He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. Mat 12:30

Woe unto the world because of offences [things that cause people to sin WU]! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by [through] whom the offence cometh! Mat 18:7

And they were offended in [at WU] him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save [except] in his own country, and in his own house. And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. Mat 13:57-58

And he said unto another, Follow me. But he [the man WU] said, Lord, suffer [allow] me first to go and bury my father. Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their [own] dead: but go thou [you go] and preach the kingdom of God. Lk 9:59-60 Mat 8:22 Don't maintain close friendships with unbelievers and stay involved in their activities. Rather, leave your old life behind and go proclaim the kingdom of God.

From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of [from] the elders and chief priests and scribes [experts in the law WU], and be killed, and be raised again the third day. Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be [done] unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence [stumbling block] unto me: for thou savourest [have in mind WU] not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. Mat 16:21-23 Satan is a stumbling block to the righteous and uses other people, sometimes other believers, to try to pull our hearts away from God. Jesus verbalized what was happening and confronted it forcefully.

When the unclean [an evil WU] spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my [the WU] house from whence [which] I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished [put in order]. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation. Mat 12:43-45

And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils [demons] are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over [to overcome WU] all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding [nevertheless] in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. Lk 10:17-20

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent [learned WU], and hast revealed them unto babes [little children WU]. Even so [yes], Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. Mat 11:25-26 When the disciples returned to Jesus after preaching the good news among the towns.

But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. Let [leave] them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. Mat 15:13-14

Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest [so that WU] darkness [doesn't WU] come upon [overtake] you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither [where] he goeth. Jh 12:35 Those without the light of Christ do not know where their lives are going.

The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting [testing him] desired [asked] him that he would shew [show] them a sign from heaven. He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern [interpret WU] the face [appearance] of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. Mat 16:1-4, Mat 12:39

Woe unto you, scribes [experts in the law WU] and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion [greed WU] and excess [self-indulgence WU]. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. Woe unto you, scribes [experts in the law WU] and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres [whitened tombs], which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity [wickedness WU]. Mat 23:25-28 Lk 11:39 People may look righteous on the outside, but inside be full of greed, self-indulgence, hypocrisy, and wickedness.

How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven [yeast] of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine [teaching] of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. Mat 16:5-12 Be on your guard against the teachings of religious leaders who do not know God.

But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe [give God a tenth of your WU] mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment [neglect justice WU] and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. ........ Woe unto you, scribes [experts in the law WU] and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not [are unmarked WU], and the men that walk over them are not aware of them. ........ And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade [load] men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers [won't lift one finger to help carry them WU]. ........ Woe unto you, lawyers [experts in the law WU]! for ye have taken away the key of [to WU] knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered. Lk 11:42-52

In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode [trampled] one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven [yeast] of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. Lk 12:1 Do not let hypocrites infect you with their hypocrisy.

And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it. And they shall say to you, See here [he is WU]; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them. For as the lightning, that lighteneth [flashes] out of the one part under heaven [of the sky WU], shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day. But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of [by] this generation. Lk 17:22-25 When Jesus comes back it will be like lightning flashing from one end of the sky to the other, so don’t be fooled by impostors.
