refusing to respond to God, according to God’s way

Closest related principles - Core Interrelations

The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage [wedding banquet WU] for his son, And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden [invited] to the wedding: and they would not come. Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage. But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise: And the remnant [rest] took his servants, and entreated [treated] them spitefully [shamefully], and slew them. But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth [angry]: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy. Go ye therefore into the highways [streets WU], and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests. And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment [clothes]: And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither [here] not having a wedding garment [clothes]? And he [the man WU] was speechless. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, [where] there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen. Mat 22:2-14 Someone may join a church but without the ‘wedding clothes’, principles applied in actions, they are not a true believer, do not have the right heart. And when one of them that sat at meat [the table] with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread [feast] in the kingdom of God. Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper [banquet WU], and bade [invited] many: And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. And they all with one consent [alike WU] began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee [please] have me excused. And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them [try them out]: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have [just WU] married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. So that servant came [back WU], and shewed [told] his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither [to here WU] the poor, and the maimed, and the halt [lame], and the blind. And the servant said, Lord, it is [has been WU] done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is [still] room. And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges [country roads WU], and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden [invited] shall taste of my supper [banquet WU]. Lk 14:15-24

Woe unto you, scribes [experts in the law WU] and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish [decorate] the sepulchres [tombs] of the righteous, And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in [shedding WU] the blood of the prophets. Wherefore [therefore] ye be witnesses unto [testify against WU] yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. Fill ye up then the measure [of the sin WU] of your fathers. Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? Mat 23:29-33 We must respond to God according to His way. A person may look like and think he belongs to God, and yet be fooling himself. This applies to someone who refuses to humbly turn to God and be led in his actions by Him.

Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, Why do thy disciples transgress [disobey] the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the [be put to] death. But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me [whatever help you might otherwise have gotten from me is a gift devoted to God]; And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect [void] by your tradition. Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias [Isaiah] prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh [near] unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for [as] doctrines the commandments of men. Mat 15:1-9 People sometimes come up with their own way of being religious, of approaching and obeying God, and in so doing nullify the work of God.

[you] Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they [these] are they which testify of [about] me. And [yet] ye will not [are not willing to WU] come to me, [so WU] that ye might have life. Jh 5:39-40
