Then Jesus went thence [from there], and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil [demon]. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet [appropriate] to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt [desire]. And her daughter was made whole [healed] from that very hour. Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: Which indeed is the least [smallest] of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof. Mat 13:31-32

The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven [yeast], which a woman took, and hid [mixed WU] in three measures of meal [a large amount of flour WU], till the whole [it all] was leavened. Mat 13:33 Believing starts small, does not immediately change everything in your life so that you are doing everything just right; rather, many changes happen gradually, eventually.

Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt [put to the test WU] the Lord thy God. Mat 4:5-7 & Deuteronomy 6:16. If you believe what God said there’s no need to test it.

When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship [boat] into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities. And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick. And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past [late]; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals [food]. But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them [something] to eat. And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. He said, Bring them hither [here] to me. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake [broke], and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples [gave] to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children. Mat 14:13-21 Even though it may not seem like you have enough resources or skill to help people out or do some good thing, give what you have, believing the Lord will help, and He will bless the work, making it successful in it's purpose.

And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore [why] didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. Mat 14:25-32 Do not doubt you will make it, or waver in faith while the Lord is helping you continually overcome things beyond your abilities. If you do doubt, and then call out to the Lord, He will immediately help you.

And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. Mat 20:4 He expects us to put our beliefs to work now and trust him to reward us later with whatever is right.  It's usually not much later that the rewards start appearing.

And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick [epileptic], and sore vexed [suffers grievously]: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer [bear with] you? bring him hither [here] to me. And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief [so little faith WU]: for verily [most assuredly] I say unto you, If ye have faith as [small as WU] a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence [move from here] to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit [but] this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. Mat 17:14-20 One who has very little faith can not drive out demons. Unbelief and perversion go together and affect whole generations.

And when his disciples were come to the other side [of the lake WU], they had forgotten to take bread. Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven [yeast] of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread. Which when Jesus perceived [it], he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, [that it is WU] because ye have brought no bread? Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven [yeast] of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? Then understood they how that he bade [told] them not [to] beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine [teaching] of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. Mat 16:5-9 Not having much faith hinders understanding spiritual things. So, it follows that having strong faith helps one understand.

I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again [and now WU], I leave the world, and go to the Father. His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb [figures of speech]. Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee [questions]: by [because of WU] this we believe that thou camest forth from God. Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe? Jh 16:28-31 If you clearly can see who Jesus is, you won’t have to ask him questions to figure out he came from God; you will just believe.

O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. And I have declared unto them thy name [made you known WU], and will declare it: that the love wherewith [with which] thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them. Jh 17:25-6 Believing that Jesus was sent by God brings him into our life.

Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither [here] thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. Jh 20:26-29 Jesus speaking to Thomas after the resurrection.

Then opened he their understanding [minds], that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved [was necessary for the] Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission [forgiveness WU] of sins should [will WU] be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Lk 24:45-49

When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught [catch] of the fishes which they had taken: And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth [now on] thou shalt catch men. Lk 5:8-10 (Peter, after Jesus provided a miraculous catch of fish.) Believe that God wants to and can purify us to the point where we can live in His presence and join Him in His work. As the harmful ways are purged out, we find we like it God’s way. You may never suspect it to be so until it happens, but it's true. Perhaps it's because God created us for good in the first place.

And there came a leper to him, beseeching [begging] him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt [are willing WU], thou canst make me clean. Verily, verily [most assuredly], I say unto you, He that believeth on [in] me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. ........ It is the spirit that quickeneth [gives life]; the flesh profiteth [counts for WU] nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. Jh 6:47-51..63 The spiritual meaning of eating bread is accepting, internalizing, and making your own the full teaching and way of life, and The Life, God offers through belief in Jesus Christ; believing His way is The Way.

Do not think that I will accuse you to [before WU] the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust [have set your hope]. For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words? Jh 5:45-47 You may think you belong to God, but yet not really believe.
