Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself [on my own WU]: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works [it is he doing his work WU]. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake [because of the miracles WU]. Verily, verily [most assuredly], I say unto you, He that believeth on [in] me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
