And he said unto them, Which of you shall [suppose you WU] have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; For a friend of mine in [from] his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give [to] thee. say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity [persistence] he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. And I say unto you, Ask [keep asking], and it shall be given you; seek [keep seeking], and ye shall find; knock [keep knocking], and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for [instead of WU] a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being [although you are WU] evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?[! And he [Jesus WU] spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint [give up]; Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded [cared about WU] man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of [give me justice against WU] mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth [keeps on bothering WU] me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect [chosen ones], which cry [out] day and night unto him, though he bear long with [will he delay helping WU] them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? Lk 18:1-8 Pray with faith.

whatever you ask

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained [appointed] you, that ye should [will WU] go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: [so WU] that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may [will WU] give it [to] you. These things [this WU] I command you, that ye love one another. Jh 15:16-17 Receiving what we ask occurs as we bear lasting fruit, have continuing works of God in our lives, helping others enter into and remain in fellowship with Jesus.

If ye abide [remain] in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will [desire], and it shall be done unto [for] you. Jh 15:7

Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth [will be enough for] us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself [on my own WU]: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works [it is he doing his work WU]. Verily, verily [most assuredly], I say unto you, He that believeth on [in] me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, [so WU] that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. Jh 14:8-14 Ask that you might dwell in close fellowship with the Lord and do his works, so that he may be glorified.

Verily, verily [most assuredly], I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask [of] the Father in my name, he will give it [to] you. JH 16:23 Hitherto [until now] have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full [complete WU]. Jh 16:23-24
